When we started John Galt in 1997, we entered into a 12-month lease with R.J. Kelly for 400 square feet of office space. We had no idea that we were entering into a multi-decade partnership. Since that small space, there have been seven different office spaces, including two full build-outs, all with R.J. Kelly. They have always been very responsive and fair. We got lucky in 1997, but ever since then, it has been a deliberate decision to keep working with R.J. Kelly because they have never let us down.

R.J. Kelly Over the Years
From solopreneur to institutional investor. Instilling ownership mentality from the ground up.
Richard Kelly’s first job, at nine years old, was as a farmhand at Crawford Farm in Burlington, MA. He earned 90 cents per 10-hour day of weeding the fields and harvesting crops.
Richard Kelly graduates high school and starts his company, building several residential homes in communities in and around Burlington. This company became known as R.J. Kelly Company (R.J. Kelly).
R.J. Kelly builds its first commercial building at 99 Cambridge Street in Burlington. The firm then builds several additional, smaller commercial properties throughout eastern Massachusetts.
R.J. Kelly expands in Massachusetts by building larger-scale office parks in Burlington, Peabody, Byfield, Wakefield, Billerica, and several other communities along the 128 corridor.
R.J. Kelly creates their joint venture institutional investor program, catapulting them into a decade of exponential growth. They elevated the trajectory of their organization by staying true to their core competencies.
R.J. Kelly expands into more flex/industrial real estate and starts their storage business, Stor-U-Self (SUS).
R.J. Kelly grows the SUS platform along with their office, flex, and industrial portfolio across New England through new development and investment in existing asset classes. They focus on further developing the firm as a vertically integrated investment, development, management, and construction company.
2020 & BEYOND
R.J. Kelly further builds out their construction, property management, asset management, and investment platforms while they continue to develop their team. They deepen their philanthropic commitments by partnering with a variety of charities meaningful to them, including Find the Cause and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
